Engineer and Project Leader, Automation (Relocation to Sept-Îles) Join BBA Consultants as an Engineer and Project Leader, Automation in Sept-Îles. This role involves developing project and client relationships in the energy and mining sectors, working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will participate in engineering mandates related to automation, instrumentation, and control systems, contribute to various project phases, and assist in proposal preparations and technological solutions for clients. Sept-Îles offers a vibrant community life with outdoor activities, beaches, and a chance to work away from big cities while enjoying amenities of a city of over 25,000 inhabitants. You will be mentored by experienced engineers and benefit from BBA’s extensive network. Key Responsibilities: Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and deliverables (P&IDs, drawings, control schemes) Draft reports, specifications, and tender documents Select control instruments and prepare datasheets Provide technical support during construction and inspections Program PLCs, DCSs, and operator interfaces Engage with clients, support business development, and participate in proposals Candidate Qualities & Values: Client-oriented, independent, detail-oriented Committed, business-savvy, action-oriented Decisive, capable of developing others, adaptable Qualifications: Bachelor’s in automation manufacturing or electrical engineering Minimum four years’ relevant experience Experience in designing control systems, programming (SCADA, PLC, DCS) Knowledge of Electrical Code, equipment start-up, and verification Proficiency in project management, technical writing, cost estimation Member of a Canadian engineering association; bilingual in English and French an asset Benefits & Compensation: Competitive salary, premium programs, and benefits starting day one Retirement plans, insurance, vacation, and sick leave Employee referral bonuses and ongoing professional development Join BBA to work in a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment where your expertise makes a difference.
