Sr. Backend Engineer

Project: The product combines mobile-first experiences, AI/ML-driven insights, and thoughtfully designed user journeys to deliver meaningful, real-world impact at scale. The team focuses on shipping high-quality consumer products with strong engineering fundamentals, scalability, and privacy-first design. What you’ll do: Design and build vector database systems for family memory storage and retrieval Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for contextual AI responses Create APIs that serve AI-generated voice clones and video avatars to mobile clients Build real-time sync systems for messaging and media across devices Design database schemas for family graphs, memories, and media metadata Implement efficient media processing pipelines (transcription, face embedding, voice embedding) Optimize ML model serving for low-latency inference Collaborate with founder on integrating proprietary voice/video models into production What we’re looking for: 5+ years of backend development with Python Vector database experience (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, pgvector, Chroma, or similar) RAG system design and implementation Strong API design skills (REST or GraphQL) Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Cloudflare) Strong Plus Django or FastAPI (the mobile lead has Instagram/Meta background using Django) ML model serving and inference optimization Embedding generation and similarity search at scale Nice to Have HIPAA/SOC2 compliance experience Mobile backend architecture Note This position requires direct interviews with US-based clients.
