Base pay range CA$70.00/hr - CA$85.00/hr *Please note that this role is primarily remote, but our client would require some in-person sessions at their office* Role will start immediately once we find the right candidate and run until May 29, 2026. Total approximate hours for this contract is 650 (approx 30-35 hours/week minus stat holidays and office closure between Christmas and New Years). Technical Discovery Lead (Front End) Power Shifter is hiring a Technical Discovery Lead (Front End) to support a major insurance client. The discovery phase is already in flight, with the foundational reference architecture and direction established. Your role is to guide the remaining technical discovery activities, facilitate workshops, translate business and CX intent into front end direction, and document a structured and pragmatic path forward for implementation. This work sits at the intersection of front end architecture, design systems, and technical project leadership. The role is advisory and facilitative, not hands on coding. It calls for someone who brings clarity and structure in a complex enterprise environment with evolving inputs. What you will do Participate in business led workshops as a technical stakeholder to understand goals, constraints, and the current state. No business documentation is required. Draft agendas and scopes for technical workshops, then facilitate those sessions with client SMEs, architects, and technology leads. Synthesize workshop inputs into practical front end capability and component recommendations. Refine and extend architectural guidance that supports modularity, reuse, accessibility, integration points, and performance, building from the foundation already created. Recommend design system usage approaches that support consistent delivery across multiple streams and teams. Advise on Contentful content modelling and map content types to front end components and user workflows. Produce a high level implementation plan that informs the next SOW, including scope outline, sequencing, skills and resourcing mix, effort ranges, risks, and assumptions. Align all recommendations with the client’s broader solution architecture, working closely with their architects and technical leadership. Provide clear, structured status updates and expectation management to the client PM. Reporting and collaboration Reports to the client PM for coordination and status Accountable to client technology leadership for technical outputs Partners with client architects and SMEs to ensure alignment with the overall solution architecture Supported by Power Shifter technical leadership for validation and guidance What you bring 6 plus years in front end oriented roles such as technical consulting, technical project management, solution design, or front end architecture Strong understanding of component based frameworks like React or Vue and how design systems translate into reusable components Experience working with or governing design systems across teams Comfort with headless CMS, ideally Contentful, including structured content modelling Excellent facilitation and documentation skills with cross functional groups Ability to map business and CX intent to feasible technical recommendations High tolerance for ambiguity and shifting expectations, with the ability to bring structure and momentum in a complex enterprise environment.
