Manager, Event Planning & Engagement – TD Work Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours: 37.5 hrs/week Line Of Business: Sales & Customer Distribution Support Pay Details: $96,900 - $136,800 CAD (discretionary variable compensation award) About the Role The Manager, Event Planning & Engagement plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering exceptional experiences across corporate events, conferences, meetings, and internal engagement activities for Finance colleagues. Reporting to the AVP, Finance Business Management and Early Talent, you’ll lead end-to-end planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business priorities. The role calls for strong project management skills, creativity, and the ability to work closely with Finance leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a sense of community within the Finance organization. What You’ll Do Develop and deliver event plans, including logistics, timelines, and budgets Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of colleague engagement & corporate events and internal initiatives Support the ongoing Colleague Engagement strategy Work with internal stakeholders to define event objectives, scope, and success measures Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with budget and quality standards Oversee venue selection, catering, AV requirements, and on‑site coordination Build digital elements into event experiences, including hybrid and virtual platforms Negotiate contracts, review clauses, and manage risk with internal and external stakeholders Oversee event intake process, monitor event performance, and prepare post‑event reports with actionable insights Ensure events reflect TD’s brand values and support a positive colleague and customer experience Job Requirements What You Need to Succeed We’re proud to work with a group of diverse colleagues. Experience & Soft Skills Strategic thinker with excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills; ability to think about the big picture while simultaneously executing on the details Proven ability to execute with speed and impact, with a track record of delivering results‑oriented programs and initiatives Proven track record of managing large‑scale corporate events and delivering exceptional attendee experiences Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including working with senior leaders Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality or related field, preferred but not required 5+ years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a corporate environment Technical Skills Proficiency in event management software and tools; experience with virtual event platforms (e.g., Teams and WebEx) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial reconciliation for events Familiarity with project management methodologies is an asset Key Competencies Results‑driven, proactive, and adaptable Creative thinker with strong problem‑solving skills Skilled at building relationships and influencing stakeholders Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fostering collaboration across teams Focused on delivering memorable and meaningful experiences Applications Must Include Resume Cover Letter We welcome all applications but can only respond to candidates selected for an interview.
