Overview Assistant Director of Care (RPN) Temporary Full Time — AgeCare Gibson Long Term Care Residence. Location: Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. AgeCare is seeking candidates who are committed to providing resident-centered care. About the Role The Assistant Director of Care works collaboratively with the senior management team to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies and procedures. This includes onboarding and annual staff education, staff health and safety, and infection prevention and control programs. Responsibilities Ensure residents’ care is evaluated continuously. Work closely with the Registered Staff team and the RAI-MDS Coordinator to ensure appropriate documentation is in place as per policy and to ensure regulatory compliance. Review and audit Point Click Care documentation including progress notes, care plans and resident assessments; ensure care plans are developed, updated, reviewed regularly, and followed consistently. Audit resident care plans on a quarterly basis and ensure documentation accurately reflects the resident’s care requirements. Respond to resident or family concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or escalate to the Director of Care. What You Will Need A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration. Knowledge of The Nursing Homes Act and Regulations, Homes for Special Care Act, Extended Care Program Directives, the Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food & Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada) and other pertinent statutes. Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Postgraduate studies in nursing, nursing administration and geriatrics are considered an asset.
