Your work will shape how maritime leaders see their business and how Helm delivers value every day.**Make your impact with a rapidly growing Marine Software business**We’re looking for a new team member to join us as a Business Intelligence Analyst to continue the incredible growth of our embedded analytics product. As our BI Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to architect your own database schema, translate the data into visualizations using our embedded platform and deliver excellent value to our customers. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who can work independently, has a great positive attitude and an aptitude to learn.This role is open to Remote candidates in India and will report to the team lead of Professional Services team.You must be comfortable with at least 4 hours of overlap with our core working hours in British Columbia (PST/PDT). Our collaboration-heavy environment means regular synchronous communication with teams in Canada. Flexibility to align your schedule for team meetings during BC business hours is essential.**How you will be spending your days:*** You will ultimately be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of data analytics and reporting solutions.* This will involve: + Creating and managing database connections to a PostgreSQL database + Creating views, tables and ETL definitions + Mering, transforming and building visualizations in an embedded platform* You will work closely with a cross functional team of developers, product managers, executive members and various departments within Helm to understand their data and reporting needs and use this knowledge to help design and develop solutions.* You will assist with the creation and maintenance of data models and data connections to support analytics and reporting.* You will be responsible for ensuring data quality and accuracy in all analytics and reports.* You will provide documentation and support to internal users on the use of the analytics and reporting solutions.* You will monitor and troubleshoot system performance while taking appropriate action to resolve issues.* You will stay apprised of new developments and updates in the field of Business Intelligence and make recommendations for process improvements as necessary**We'd love to chat if you have:*** Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics) or Business* 2+ years experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence/analytics delivery capacity* Strong knowledge of SQL or other database query language is required* Experience with business intelligence tools such as Sisense, Power BI, Tableau, and QlikView**Who are you (soft skills):*** You like working in environments where you have ownership of your role and take control to make things happen.* You’re happy to learn by doing and capable of learning from mistakes.* You’re okay with the idea that you might not always have the perfect process, tool, or asset at hand for every situation, but by working with a team you’ll be able to develop the things you need* You are proactive and can work under pressure* Able to work independently and complete tasks with high quality, but unafraid to seek out assistance when required* Work well within a team, and contribute effectively to the success of those that you interact with regularly through showing motivation, dedication & passion* Demonstrate ability for problem-solving skills and critical thinking* Highly organized with an eagerness to learn* Strong written and verbal skills* Attention to detail and be deadline oriented**You must have experience in the following:*** SQL DB, BI platforms such as Sisense, PowerBI, Tablet, Qlik**You will be working with:*** Company wide: Slack, MS 365, Confluence* Role based: Sisense, PGSQL, PowerBI**What it's like to work at Helm Operations**First and foremost, we value diversity, equity and inclusion.
