Vaughan, Canada Systematix Full time

We are Systematix and we are looking to hire an Electrical Engineering Technician on a contract basis for 1+ year starting ASAP (notice is fine), for our global Life Sciences client based in Vaughan, just north of Toronto. This role is on-site


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and operation of engineering-grade test fixtures under the supervision of Electrical Designers.
  • Execution of qualification testing for new hardware.
  • Debug & Repair PCBA and Fixtures as required by Electrical Designers.
  • Design and build Electromechanical assemblies such as Cables and Load boxes.
  • Work with Electrical Designers and parts procurement specialists to assess suitability/availability of electronic components for hardware development.
  • Support the procurement & kitting aspects of electronic components in transit to our rapid prototype PCBA vendors.
  • Upkeep of frequently used laboratory stock for research-grade & engineering-grade development work.

Key Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist's diploma or higher, or its equivalent. Strong practical electrical experience is an important asset.
  • Experience working within a research-grade or engineering rapid-prototyping environment.
  • Proficiency in using generic electrical development tools such as bench multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators.
  • Demonstrate SMD and Through-hole soldering experience.
  • Basic drafting skills with Mechanical CAD software like AutoCAD or Catia or SolidWorks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with the MS OFFICE tool suite (e.g., EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in using specialized electrical development tools such as High-bandwidth Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Network/Spectrum/Impedance analyzers.
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts and hands-on experience in building electromechanical assemblies.
