As a Manager, Valuations responsibilities include: Manage and be hands‑on in the execution of valuation engagements. Attend and lead meetings with clients and their advisors to understand and analyze their business. Drafting and reviewing valuation reports for the purposes of shareholder transactions, corporate reorganizations, income tax planning, and financial reporting. Undertaking qualitative and quantitative analyses to develop and validate solutions. Analyzing financial statements and other financial information. Conducting industry and market research. Researching public companies to develop peer group valuations. Performing comparable transaction analysis. Building detailed valuation and financial models including sensitivity analysis. Assist in litigation matters including the performance of financial analysis and preparation of expert valuation or damage quantification reports in connection with shareholder disputes, post‑acquisition disputes, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duties. Collaborating with service lines within Doane Grant Thornton in the execution of valuation mandates (e.g. Tax, Assurance). Involvement in the development of best practices within the group and administrative duties. Active participation in the development and growth of our Valuations and Litigation service offering. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick: Completion of a university degree and Professional Accounting Designation (CPA). Completion of a CBV designation required. Minimum 1+ years post-designation in the Valuations field. Strong financial analysis skills and understanding of financial statements as well as solid financial modeling capabilities. Proven problem‑solver with solid analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to generate creative solutions to abstract or undefined problems. Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple engagements and work effectively under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision‑makers. Team player with ability to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of clients. Ability to establish and develop meaningful business relationships with colleagues, clients and in the marketplace, based on strong rapport, trust and respect, in support of growing the practice. Strong management and leadership skills, especially in the areas of project management, multi‑team management, coaching and development of team members. Ability to execute on deliverables in a fast‑paced and deadline‑driven environment and work beyond standard business hours as business needs require. Willingness to work through peak periods, as required. A strong desire to help clients succeed in all aspects of their operations. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, seeing a project from start to finish. The ability to talk to and meet with people at various levels throughout an organization from a client service and business development perspective. Enthusiasm for helping the valuation and litigation support practice grow.
