Job Summary The Manager, Data Governance and Reporting plays a strategic role in advancing VON's data and reporting governance maturity. Work is cross‑functional with Business, Clinical and Technology partners to drive data quality, enable analytics and support regulatory and operational reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead implementation of data governance practices, including policies, processes and artifacts. Build and performance manage a team in alignment with VON processes and best practices. Support/contribute to budget development and oversight. Build a team culture of trust, collaboration and delivery while managing resource allocations on various initiatives and projects. Collaborate with business data owners and Information Systems to manage metadata, lineage and data flows. Coordinate resolution of data issues and facilitate remediation strategies. Support creation of curated datasets for analytics, reporting and visualization. Contribute to strategic data inventories and roadmaps. Develop dashboards and tracking mechanisms to monitor and improve data quality. Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Process Risk Controls (PRCs) to reduce data risk. Document and maintain operational procedures for audit readiness. Support stakeholder training and communications to drive adoption. Conduct need assessments and recommend process improvements. Provide guidance on future‑ready data solutions and business intelligence models. Develop and maintain robust reporting frameworks and dashboards for various metrics, performance & data quality. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis. Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with internal Business Intelligence team. Oversee collection, storage and retrieval of data from various sources, ensuring compliance with data governance policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within reporting, analytics & data governance. Implement best practices for data analysis, reporting and visualization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify gaps in current processes and weaknesses that could undermine business strategy or areas for improvement. Ensure mechanisms for staff to share organizational news and provide feedback. Ensure all districts complete performance development and learning plans for staff. External and Internal Relationships Establish effective working relationships and communications with cross‑functional team members and management. Build strong interpersonal relationships with peers and key stakeholders. Collaborate with stakeholders, service providers and consultants as needed. Education, Designations and Experience University degree in data or technical‑related field or equivalent years of experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Management & Governance within enterprise environments, including 3 years of managing others. Strong working knowledge of SQL; familiarity with Python, Java and C/C++ preferred. Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Domo, Looker). Experience writing SQL queries and creating ETL. Proven ability to lead projects and change‑management initiatives. Strong verbal/written communication and collaboration skills. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is an asset. Skill Requirements Exceptional collaboration, consultation, relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills. Travel, overtime and irregular work schedules as required. Working Conditions and Physical Demands This role requires a detail‑oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
