Engineering Director, (does not manage a team) + responsible for the organization, coordination, and control of all phases of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with applicable airworthiness standards such as DO-160 and DO-178C, for the development of certified aircraft systems involving both hardware and software. As a Project Engineer Your Key Responsibilities Include Prepare Engineering Estimates and Engineering Development Plans Execute Engineering Development Plans while proactively identifying and mitigating risks impacting schedule, cost, or deliverables Lead engineering project teams to respect budget, schedule, and ensure quality deliveries Identify user stories and detailed tasks, assign priorities and tasks to project team members, and clearly communicate requirements and deadlines Work with other departments such as Program Management, Airworthiness, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive projects forward Produce and present status reports for management review To Join Our Team, You Must Knowledge of DO-178C and DO-254 quality standards Experience in avionics or military hardware and software development Availability to travel to CMC Electronics US locations once a month initially To Excel In This Role, You Must Have Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent; Possess at least 7 years’ experience as a hardware and/or software engineer in the avionics or military products environment; Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, including technical risk oversight and managing teams of 10+ people, including remote teams Demonstrated success in the execution and leadership of complex technical projects requiring cost and schedule performance management and risk management Demonstrated understanding of requirements management for the development of hardware and/or software systems What We Offer Group insurance paid at 100% and pension plan with employer participation Financial assistance program for studies Free electrical terminals On-site cafeteria at low cost Closed during the end-of-year holidays International-calibre company on a human scale CMC is committed to employment equity and to the equal access program.
