Overall Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Systems Analyst will have a primary focus on overall security, integrity, and stability of Jamieson’s BI Platforms. Aiding in the design and support of new business reporting solutions, and refinement of existing ones, this role will take on business analyst functions as part of their skill set. This role will also play a key in supporting business users in critical business applications like ERP and supply chain optimization.


Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

a) Data Management

Apply knowledge of statistics, programming, and data modeling, to recognize patterns and identify opportunities to add business value

  • Define data models, like data warehouses, to build an efficient overall data architecture
  • Develop ETL workflows to transform data between various systems


b) Technology:

  • Assist with defining business requirements for new functionality within the BI environment
  • Support the business through change control procedures to implement new report elements and dashboards
  • Frontend BI development for dashboards and report elements
  • Troubleshoot data anomalies and provide resolution feedback to the business
  • Monitor the overall stability, availability, and functionality of the Jamieson BI platform
  • Continuously evolve to understand and work with modern reporting technologies
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with the supply chain optimization software


c) Business Analyst:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of the BI change request process
  • Liaison with business stakeholders to design and document new BI reports
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Support projects, adhering to project plans
  • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Perform user acceptance testing
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the ERP
  • Act as ambassador for IT department and as an advocate for technology and ERP best practices


d) Governance:

Ensure appropriate levels of security, availability, and redundancy for BI technology stack

Maintain, follow and enhance as necessary, any appropriate SOPs for IT department

Support and enforce any IT related Policies

Working in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure

Comply with all associated GMP Practices


e) Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • 1-3 Years experience in a Data Analyst related role
  • Familiarity with the following technology:
  • Tableau, Snowflake, AWS, SQL, Informatica, Kinaxis
  • Working knowledge of database architecture and data schema design
  • Experience working with SAP would be an asset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong business acumen
