Co-Founder Third Tiger I Fractional People Leader I Mentor I Recruiting ExpertThis role requires a seasoned leader with a strong background in full-stack application development, team leadership, vendor management, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize experience in full-stack application development to actively participate in the entire development lifecycle, including writing features, bug fixing, system architecture design, CI/CD pipeline management,testing framework setup, etc.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning. Willingness to build and expand the team from initial hire to subsequent expansions.
- Manage external development teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Demonstrate strategic decision-making abilities by evaluating build vs. buy options and implementing solutions that align with the company's long-term objectives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive innovation and efficiency within the engineering department by staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams for 2+ years, with a track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule.
- Proven ability to manage vendors and external development teams effectively, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Willingness to actively participate in the full development lifecycle, from coding to testing to deployment, while also guiding team members through these processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor engineering teams.
- Prior experience in making strategic build vs. buy decisions, evaluating technical trade-offs, and implementing scalable solutions.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in the logistics industry, especially in areas such as cross-border trade and last-mile delivery.
- Experience managing hybrid on-shore/off-shore teams.
- Experience in pre-seed to Series B startups is a bonus.
