Overview Claims Manager - National Large Loss Property role at Intact. This is a full-time permanent position that can be based in any of our Quebec or GTA offices. What You'll Do Here Manage the day to day operation of the Property Large Loss team to ensure results produced meet team, department, corporate, Provincial and regulatory standards and goals; provide regular feedback to leadership on results. Achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations. Provide technical oversight and guidance with a focus on indemnity and expense control, as well as, optimal customer experience. Act as claims authority within areas of expertise and provide direction on such issues as policy interpretation, quantum analysis, reserving and technical issues. Settle large or complex claims within authority or escalate issues as necessary. Continually assess and improve workflows to ensure efficiency. This includes responding to and partnering with internal and external contacts regarding issues affecting them and to ensure collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. Work closely with the Director and Claims Managers to develop strategies and long term and short term plans to facilitate ongoing work, process improvement, customer relations and other functions. Monitor financial performance and productivity and report observations, progress and recommendations to key stakeholders. Lead and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure utilization of tools and behaviours to foster critical thinking and innovation around problem solving. Provide effective leadership, responsible for hiring and terminations, coaching and mentoring, performance management, continuous learning and career development for direct reports. Lead property large loss training strategy. Completion of monthly file reviews and audits, identify opportunities and develop action plans. What You Bring To The Table A minimum of 10 years of management, coaching and mentoring experience in commercial property claims. Extensive experience handling large and complex property losses, including builders risk, business interruption and time element claims in all Canadian jurisdictions. Technical expertise in coverage analysis, building construction and quantum evaluation. Exceptional organisation and time management skills. Strong negotiation, project management and problem solving skills. Knowledge of reinsurance an asset. Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive positive change. Demonstrated ability to lead by example though Intact’s Leadership Success Factors. Excellent customer, communication and interpersonal skills – you can relate to anyone Bilingual in French and English. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
