About Our Client Our client specializes in delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for building restoration projects. Our portfolio spans historic preservation, structural rehabilitation, and modern building upgrades. Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in building restoration to lead complex projects from assessment through to completion. The Role As a Senior Civil Engineer in the restoration division, you will play a key role in assessing building structures, developing engineering solutions, and managing restoration projects to ensure structural integrity, compliance, and longevity. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to preserve the character and function of buildings while meeting modern safety and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the assessment of building conditions, including structural, envelope, and foundation components. Develop engineering designs and technical specifications for restoration, repair, and rehabilitation projects. Manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines, ensuring quality and compliance with codes and regulations. Conduct on-site inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure design adherence and safety. Prepare detailed reports, cost estimates, and recommendations for clients. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to project teams. Coordinate with regulatory bodies, heritage organizations, and other stakeholders when required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Applied Science degree or related field. P.Eng designation (or eligible for licensing in Ontario). Minimum 8+ years of experience in building restoration, structural rehabilitation, or related fields. Strong knowledge of construction materials, deterioration mechanisms, and repair technologies. Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools. Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
