As General Manager, you will lead store operations, drive member satisfaction, and support the company’s strategic vision. Role Summary As General Manager, you will manage store operations, support business objectives, build a high‑performing team, and create an engaging culture while ensuring an excellent member experience. Daily Responsibilities Promote MEC values, culture and purpose to all store staff. Ensure store operations are efficient and deliver an outstanding member experience. Manage team schedules in partnership with workforce planners and staff. Identify hiring needs, manage recruitment and selection, and stay within payroll budget. Conduct regular check‑ins with store staff, fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with MEC values. Maintain store visual presentation to support outstanding customer experience. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for staff and members. Stay informed about new products, technology and sustainability initiatives. Help Canadians become more active outdoors through support and inspiration. Qualifications At least five years of experience in a similar retail management role. Passion for the outdoors and a collaborative, inclusive team spirit. Customer‑focused mindset committed to an exceptional member experience. Demonstrated leadership and employee motivation skills. Strong communication, business acumen and conflict management. Capacity to lift 50 lb and walk 10,000 steps per day. Ability to lead through influence, adapt to ambiguity and deliver results.
