Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is located in Castlegar, a vibrant community known for its outdoor recreational opportunities and high quality of life. This position offers the chance to practice in a supportive and collegial environment. Practice Details We are looking to welcome an additional GP to our clinic. Our team is flexible and can help you design the practice you want, whether it be full‑scope care, family practice with a special interest in geriatrics, pediatrics, or obstetrics. Obstetrics is not required, but an Emergency Medicine practice is required. We would expect a new physician to provide 3–4 Emergency shifts per month. Our Emergency covers 7 day a week, 8 am–8 pm and shifts vary from 6–12 hrs. Trauma and after‑hour visits go directly to the regional hospital in Trail. Inpatient beds are located in Trail (25 min) or in Nelson (40 min). We also have two large long‑term care homes in Castlegar. We have a newly established Primary Care Network team, including a full‑time Social Worker, a full‑time RN, and a 0.8 FTE Physiotherapist, providing strong team‑based care. Teaching opportunities exist as the nearby Trail community hospital is a UBC teaching centre, allowing for medical student and family practice resident preceptorship. MDs in this area enjoy flexible schedules, typically 7–9 weeks of vacation per year and an average of 4 days per week for an estimated $300,000 gross income (including rural incentives). Additional earnings are possible for those who choose to work more. Clinic type: Private general full‑service clinic, with walk‑in services on Saturdays when fully staffed. Qualifications Eligible for the College of Family Physicians of Canada certification (CCFP) Eligible for licensure with CPSBC Doctorate in Medicine Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory Emergency experience Call Schedule Hours of work: Flexible. On call requirements: 1:8. Compensation Estimated Gross Income: $300,000 (based on 4 days/week and 6–9 weeks vacation). Rural Incentives Relocation: $9,000–$15,000 (based on move location) Recruitment bonus max of $15,000 (prorated if less than full time) Retention Flat Fee: $18,441.60 Retention Premium: 11.90% RCME up to max of $4,840 after 4 years in practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
