Job Overview Family Physician - Private Clinic – Interior Health Authority We would like to welcome an additional GP to our clinic. We are a collegial working group who can help you design the practice you want, whether it be full spectrum care, or family practice with a special interest in geriatrics, pediatrics or obstetrics. Obstetrics is not required, but Emergency Room coverage is required. We would expect a new physician to provide 3‑4 Emergency shifts per month. Hospitalist opportunities occasionally arise in the regional hospital in Trail. Key Responsibilities Provide 3‑4 Emergency shifts per month (open 7 days a week, 8 am‑8 pm, shifts 6‑12 hrs). Support trauma and after‑hour emergency visits, coordinated with the regional hospital in Trail. Participate in inpatient care as needed in Trail (25 min away) or Nelson (40 min away). Engage with team‑based care including a full‑time Social Worker, a full‑time RN, and a part‑time Physio as part of a newly established Primary Care Network. Teach medical students and precept family practice residents (Trail UBC teaching centre). Qualifications & Expectations Preferred qualifications include a completed Family Medicine residency and willingness to work in a rural setting. Flexibility in schedule is valued; most practitioners work 4 days a week and take 7‑9 weeks of vacation per year. Expected compensation is ~CAD 300,000 gross income excluding rural incentives. Benefits Full EMR support (Profile), experienced admin and billing staff, strong team support, and a flexible MD schedule allowing for a healthy work‑life balance.
