Senior SR&ED Consultant (Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering) Join KPMG Canada as a Senior SR&ED Consultant. Overview Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is one of the country’s largest tax incentive programmes, designed to encourage Canadians to carry out research and development and foster technological innovation. KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice (TIP) is a multidisciplinary team of engineers and accountants that helps clients obtain tax savings through initiatives such as SR&ED. We are seeking an individual with a solid engineering background who is eager to work on cutting‑edge innovations across a range of industries. Responsibilities Be exposed to new and exciting technologies and state‑of‑the‑art innovations in mechanical and chemical engineering. Work with Senior Managers to support client technical interviews and examine operations to identify SR&ED‑eligible projects and activities. Summarise eligible client activities in a technical report. Plan and execute multiple engagements on time and within budget. Develop and manage client relationships and expectations. Maintain an understanding of the SR&ED program and keep up to date with changes in legislation. Qualifications University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field. At least 2 years of progressive industry experience. Experience in SR&ED or other R&D‑related government tax incentive programmes is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.). Strong interest in staying current with cutting‑edge technologies and trends. Analytical thinker capable of drawing inferences and making unexpected connections. Highly driven, autonomous, resilient, and a team player with a strong work ethic. Salary CA$85,000.00 – CA$100,000.00 (approx.)
