Role Description As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of 12‑20 engineers, driving product impact in a virtual‑first environment. You’ll partner with Product Management, set technical direction, and cultivate a culture of innovation. Responsibilities Lead a team of 12‑20 engineers, managing direct and cross‑functional relationships. Partner with Product Managers to plan roadmaps, sprints, and high‑visibility objectives. Drive high‑quality execution, balancing feature work and technical debt. Set engineering practices, quality, and operations standards. Lead Agile processes: backlog, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and technical direction. Oversee cross‑org initiatives and manage execution of critical initiatives. Conduct career conversations and career planning for direct reports. Requirements BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 8 years of people‑management experience; 10 years of software engineering experience. Managed engineering teams of 20+ and experience managing managers. Experience building or integrating AI products or platform‑level APIs. Strong Agile process experience (sprints, retros, stand‑ups). Results‑driven and able to balance execution predictability with agility. Preferred Qualifications Built AI‑powered features in production with ML engineers and product teams. Strong backend engineering and AI agent infrastructure expertise. Experience evaluating AI models and advising on build‑vs‑buy decisions. Expertise in distributed systems architecture for scalability and fault tolerance. Compensation Canada Pay Range: $200,600—$271,400 CAD per year. Total rewards include OTE, RSUs, and bonus program.
