Come experience this incredible lifestyle for yourself Role and Facility Information As a regional facility and secondary referral centre for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, you will be joining an excellent complement of medical and surgical specialists at the Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH). PRH is a 158‑bed Acute Care facility in the Okanagan Health Service Area and is responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to a surrounding population of approximately 90,000 people. PRH offers 24‑hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Acute Services, Ambulatory and Out‑patient Clinics, and Diagnostic/Paramedical Services. PRH also hosts a seven‑bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and serves as the referral base for hematology/transfusion medicine for the smaller local hospitals in Oliver and Princeton. In April 2019 PRH opened phase one of the David E. Kampe Tower (DKT), a new, state‑of‑the‑art Patient Care Tower. DKT includes a brand new ambulatory care centre, surgical services centre, 84 medical/surgical inpatient beds in single patient rooms, a new medical device reprocessing unit and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program. Phase two is set to be completed in December 2021 and will involve the renovation of the current hospital to allow the expansion of the emergency department four times its current size. You will be part of our dedicated team of six psychiatrists providing the most up‑to‑date, comprehensive, quality client‑centered care to individuals and their families. The 16‑bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (IPU) offers Acute Mental Health and Substance Use services in a safe, secure and accessible facility for the South Okanagan region. In addition to inpatient services, our well‑established integrated Adult Mental Health programs include Short Term Counseling, Community Case Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Physical Activation, Anxiety and Depression, DBT groups, as well as Seniors Mental Health and Rural Outreach. Additionally, our community child and youth mental health program features individual counselling, group counselling, DBT program and integrated psychiatric services.
