Title: Director, Family Based Programs and Services, Coast Salish Cultural Family Salary: $125,708 - $147,891 - $170,075 per year Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri) Location: Vancouver Island, BC, located on the ancestral territories of the Coast Salish Nations – Onsite – Travel within the Vancouver Island Region, and occasionally outside of the region, is required. The Role As Director, Family Based Programs and Services, Coast Salish Cultural Family, you will provide senior leadership and strategic oversight for Coast Salish Family community-based programs and services. This includes Community Engagement and Planning, Nursing, Primary Care, Mental Health & Substance Use, Traditional Wellness, Maternal and Child Health, Environmental Public Health, Health Emergency Management, and Public Health Response. You will be overseeing a diverse portfolio focused on supporting holistic, community-driven health and wellness across the region. About You To be successful in this role you will have/be – Education A degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Work, or an equivalent and acceptable combination of education, training and experience. A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social work is a requirement. Experience 7–10 years of recent and relevant experience in First Nations health and wellness programming and service delivery. 7–10 years of recent and relevant experience in crisis response, emergency management, and responding to health-related emergencies. Experience working directly with First Nations communities, including health professionals and paraprofessionals. Experience engaging with First Nations people at community and/or political levels, particularly in community engagement and development. Experience working within complex intergovernmental relationships and leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments. Knowledge Knowledge of the BC First Nations health landscape, including governance structures and current priorities. Familiarity with health and wellness priorities and challenges of Coast Salish Family communities on Vancouver Island, including their governance model. Understanding of the Vancouver Island Health Emergency Management landscape, key partners, and their roles in relation to First Nations communities. The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
