We’re on the lookout for a passionate Unregulated Care Providers (UCP), Healthcare Aide, Home Health Aide (HHA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA) , to join our team in the senior living industry in Stittsville, ON Canada
Shift schedule: 3pm-11pm part time 30hris biweekly, every other weekend and 1 week a Thursday and other week a Tuesday
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medication Administration (*UCPs only)
- The UCP is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner by law and in accordance with prevailing practices as set out by the pharmacy
- Reviews, reads, documents and communicates pertinent information about residents.
- Receives medication updates
- Administers/assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR)
- Medications are passed according to times as directed by the residence and/or physician's order
- Documents and initials as medications are given; appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses
- Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors
- Passionate about providing excellent care and services to seniors
- Certified in CPR and First Aid recommended
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures
- Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset
- PSW or Supportive Care certification an asset
