Position Details Position: Part-Time Security Guard Site: Headwaters Health | 100 Rolling Hills Dr, Orangeville, ON L9W 6T6 Averaging Agreement: Ontario Averaging Agreement Hours: Saturday and Sunday (1900 - 0700) Payrate: $19.63/hour Posting Date: January 5, 2026 Internal Closing Date: January 9, 2026 External Closing Date: January 19, 2026 Number of Openings: 1 Reports to: Client Service Manager Shift: 3rd Shift Travel: Not required Key Responsibilities Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security. Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring suspicious activity is reported immediately. Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, allowing only authorized individuals access to restricted areas. Act quickly in emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, assisting staff during crises and evacuations. Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff, providing directions and ensuring guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and handle all interactions calmly and professionally. Document and report daily activities, incidents, security concerns, or accidents accurately. Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure safety. Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Prerequisites Valid Security License for the province of Ontario. Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider. COVID Vaccine 2 doses. Proof of up-to-date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step Tuberculosis skin test. Willingness to complete N95 Mask fit testing during training. Vulnerable Sector Check. English (oral/written) fluency is a must. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
