Timber-Tech Building Solutions - Floor Framer Timber-Tech Building Solutions, formerly Darmac Framing Systems, is a privately owned Canadian company that builds quality walls, floors, and trusses for residential construction in our prefabrication facility. We provide a positive work environment for our employees and excellent value for our customers. Position: Floor Framer Location: Balzac, AB (facility). Reports to Production Manager. Apprenticeship opportunities available Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements and layout of the framing work. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete framing tasks. Select appropriate materials, ensuring quality and compliance with building codes. Assemble and install floors according to design specifications. Assist with the installation of sheathing, insulation, and other building materials as needed. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with team members to meet project goals and deadlines. Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly dispose of waste materials. Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with standards. Qualifications Must be able to write and speak in English. Proven experience as a carpenter or framer, preferably in a prefabrication or construction environment. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed specifications. Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and framing techniques. Attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast‑paced environment to achieve accurate cuts and assemblies. Knowledge of safety protocols, practices, and procedures in a construction or industrial setting. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team. Physical ability to lift to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and handle heavy materials as required. Must have reliable transportation to the work site. Public transportation is not available. Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to framing tasks. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
