Legal research and investment transactions define this full-time Calgary summer placement with AIMCo’s Legal Services department. Work directly with in-house lawyers.
As a 1L or 2L law student, you will gain broad exposure to Enterprise Legal and Investment Legal matters. Assignments may involve governance, international investment transactions, asset management, emerging technology, and financial markets. Work is tailored to your experience, educational background, and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research legal issues and draft legal memoranda
- Assist with major investment transaction drafting and closings
- Review and update minute books and corporate records
- Support process development using AI and legal technologies
- Review, draft, analyze, and present general contracts
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian law school
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organization, research, and analytical abilities
- Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative approach
- Commitment to AIMCo’s values of integrity and collaboration
Build practical legal experience through research, transactions, contracts, and technology-enabled process development at AIMCo.
