Job Summary The District Food Programs Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and management of all school food initiatives across the Anglophone South School District. Reporting directly to the Community Engagement Coordinator, the role serves as the primary liaison with provincial school food program leads to ensure the district’s programs meet provincial standards and foster partnerships that sustain nutritious meals for all students. Key Responsibilities Support individual schools to implement and operate breakfast, lunch, and other food programs. Collaborate with community partners, suppliers, and food service providers to strengthen program delivery. Manage the rollout of the new School Lunch Program and assess school-level needs. Provide consistent communication, tracking, and reporting between schools, the district, and provincial leadership. Lead the implementation of school food programs to ensure alignment with provincial policy and standards. Review and integrate existing programs to align with new models, promoting continuous improvement and innovation. Ensure all programs comply with the School Food and Nutrition Policy and supporting documents. Support schools in meeting standards, working with partners and departments to ensure proper infrastructure and equipment. Foster relationships with principals, administrators, and provincial partners. Coordinate procurement of food suppliers in partnership with the Education, Early Childhood, and Disability (EECD) sector. Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports. Coordinate and participate in mandated nutrition education meetings, professional development, and training. Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Engagement Coordinator and the Superintendent. Collaborate with principals and the Community Engagement Coordinator to develop long‑term strategic plans for local community, municipal, and business involvement. Qualifications Diploma, certificate, or degree in culinary/food service management, community development, social sciences, or a related field, with at least 3 years of related experience. Experience developing and implementing programs in multiple locations. Experience building relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders. Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle; travel to schools within the region is required. Proficient written and spoken English. Asset Qualifications Safe Food Handling certification and knowledge of Food Premises Licensing and commercial cafeteria equipment. Demonstrated planning, organizational, and time‑management skills. Strong judgement and decision‑making skills, with the ability to assess and address competing priorities. Problem‑solving, negotiation, and conflict‑management skills. Knowledge of the public education system, local food systems, and food literacy programs. Experience in school food program management (budgeting, inventory, procurement, volunteer management/training, and daily operating procedures). Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications and experience to be considered. Salary SBO Pay Band 3, $1,799–$2,823 bi‑weekly, based on a minimum of 36.25 hours per week.
