WHO ARE YOU:

- 5 years of prior experience in retail operations, operating a minimum of 8-10 stores
- Post-secondary education, preferably in Retail Management/Business is an asset
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to engage and drive operational excellence, including managing District performance
- Strong relationship building skills and a people builder/developer
- Strategic Thinker with the ability to build business strategies
- Must have a strong P&L experience and the ability to identify opportunities and lead a team to optimize performance
- Strong merchandise management expertise
- Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor and attitude at all times
- Smart Serve, WSET preferred but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain ongoing recruitment, training, engagement, performance management of Store Managers and teams to ensure excellence of store operations
- Lead by example and promote strong leadership qualities among teams, ensuring coaching conversations are occurring in the district
- Manage performance of direct reports through setting goals and objectives, identifying knowledge gaps allocating resources to bridge the gaps, overall performance assessment and compensation reviews
- Responsible for reviewing and planning sales activities to drive profitability and expense controls to meet and exceed targets with Store Managers
- Monitor controllable expenses at store level and manage inventory shrink
- This role will have its own district budget and will be empowered to manage the District like a business ensuring profit targets are met
- Day to day operations focused on achieving Net Sales, Gross Profit, managing controllable expenses and delivering executional mandates
- Leading a team of Store Managers and Wine Merchants, ensuring stores operate properly and that customers are served following our customer service programs
- Ensure the group of stores are operating according to company policies, company direction and government legislation
- Prepare annual budgets, control expenses and develop strategies to achieve required financial results for the district and be involved in Wine Rack commercial planning strategic plans
- Responsible for profit, sales, and mix targets for the district
- People planning and ensuring turnover is minimized by ensuring development plans, clear communication, dealing with key issues and ensuring that the corporate values are upheld
- Ensure executional excellence in the district
- Conduct Store Visits to evaluate and identify business opportunities to improve sales growth, team development
