What does an Account Director do at Hogarth? Our Account Directors are central to delivering value for major beauty brand clients. They excel at understanding complex challenges, contributing to strategic integrated marketing roadmaps, and collaborating on innovative solutions that support brand growth. Leveraging our comprehensive capabilities and global network, they identify opportunities for new work streams and integrated solutions. They embody a robust growth mindset, adapt to the evolving content‑production landscape, and continuously innovate and optimize. As trusted advisors to senior clients and the Integrated Agency Team (IAT) partners, they are viewed as an extension of the client’s core team. The role requires the director to be embedded in the client’s office for a minimum of three days per week, fostering deep collaboration and immediate response. They champion creative work, ensure flawless delivery across production, adaptation, digital, and print, and manage the execution and profitability of their accounts. They serve as a source of truth for content factory processes across all teams and hubs. Key Responsibilities Growth & Account Planning Contribute to agency revenue growth by identifying profitable opportunities with major beauty brand clients and defining integrated scope from planning to delivery. Formulate robust plans to manage and grow opportunities, extending the client business within the beauty sector. Support the development and maintenance of a dynamic client business development plan on an ongoing basis. Partner closely with the Director of Operations to manage financial aspects of high‑volume accounts, including SOWs, fees, profitability analysis, and utilization. Monitor and communicate a clear POV on current marketing, beauty industry trends, AI and emerging technologies, and competitive issues. Support new business activities, contributing to pitches and proposals for major beauty brands. Participate actively in industry functions to build relationships and stay abreast of beauty industry trends and innovations. Relationship Management Responsible for overall client engagement and the health of key relationships with our major beauty brand client and agency partners. Serve as a trusted advisor on Hogarth’s global capabilities, integrated marketing expertise, and innovative production strategies. Provide strategic guidance and counsel to help clients achieve business objectives and develop integrated marketing and production strategies. Partner seamlessly with clients, creative agencies, and other agency partners to ensure understanding of brief, deliverables, timelines, and costs. Set and manage expectations proactively and troubleshoot issues across stakeholders and high‑volume projects. Interface regularly with all client levels to identify opportunities and propose solutions. Ensure understanding of contractual obligations, commercial arrangements, and SLAs across assigned accounts. Provide regular strategic updates to clients, focusing on integrated marketing and production expertise. Collaboration Demonstrate exceptional collaboration with internal teams and agency partners, leveraging all resources to support client business. Cultivate a partnership with Operations Lead, Finance, Hogarth Production leads, and SMEs to serve as a source of truth. Navigate and resolve conflicting priorities across departments or agency partners. Inform and partner with Operations to optimize teams, workflow, and financial health for high‑volume accounts. Management Work closely with the beauty brand client, creative agencies, and all agency partners to ensure clarity of brief, deliverables, and timelines. Contribute to and present account and brand‑level updates to Senior Management. Mentor junior team members interested in the account management path. Understand complex client challenges for global production and integrated marketing within the beauty sector, proposing innovative solutions. Contribute positively to the Hogarth Worldwide NY office agency culture by exhibiting ownership and professionalism. Requirements 7+ years of progressive client services experience, with at least 4 years in an integrated agency environment. Proven track record managing high‑volume accounts and complex integrated campaigns. Experience with a major beauty brand or similar premium consumer‑facing brand; fast‑paced retail experience highly desirable. Thorough understanding of the beauty sector, current market trends, and competitive landscape. Robust growth mindset and adaptability, navigating the evolving content‑production landscape. Interest or experience with AI and emerging technologies to enhance production capabilities. Confidence interacting with senior/executive management of the agency, client, and partners. Client‑relationship skills, building strong rapport, presenting to diverse audiences, managing stakeholders. Fluency in integrated production and marketing strategies across digital, social, and traditional media. Unwavering appreciation for excellent work across all channels and commitment to creative excellence. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, articulating complex ideas clearly. Fluent in French (speaking & writing) is essential. Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills in integrated team dynamics. Proven ability to lead and collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Strong negotiation skills in a multi‑stakeholder environment. Commercial acumen and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, fluid environment managing high‑volume deliverables. Authentically passionate about great work, team, integrated partners, and business.
