What does an Account Director do at Hogarth? Our Account Directors are central to delivering value to our major beauty brand clients. They excel at understanding complex challenges, contributing to strategic integrated marketing roadmaps, and collaborating on innovative solutions that support brand growth. Leveraging our agency's comprehensive capabilities and global network, they identify opportunities for new work streams and integrated solutions. Embracing a robust growth mindset, they exemplify exceptional adaptability, skillfully navigating the dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape of modern content production to foster continuous innovation and optimization. As trusted advisors and partners to senior clients and their Integrated Agency Team (IAT) counterparts (comprising other agency partners involved in the client's marketing efforts), they are viewed as an extension of the client's core team. This role requires the Account Director to be embedded within the client's office for a minimum of three days per week, fostering deep collaboration and immediate response. This role demands a profound understanding of the beauty industry, integrated marketing, and high‑volume production services, thriving in a flexible, fast‑paced, and collaborative environment. They champion groundbreaking creative work, ensure flawless delivery across production, adaptation, digital, and print, and manage the successful execution and profitability of their accounts. Serving as intrinsic sources of truth for our content factory across our offices and hubs, they ensure consistency and clarity in all internal teams and ways of working. They are collaborative leaders, promoting teamwork and collaboration within their internal teams and across agency partners. Key Responsibilities: GROWTH & ACCOUNT PLANNING Contributes to agency revenue growth by identifying profitable opportunities with major beauty brand clients, defining Hogarth's integrated scope from strategic planning through multi‑channel delivery Formulates robust plans to manage and grow opportunities, extending the client business and partnership within the beauty sector Supports the development and maintenance of a dynamic client business development plan (per client) on an ongoing basis, identifying specific opportunities and actions needed to expand our footprint Partners closely with the Director of Operations to manage all financial aspects of assigned high‑volume accounts, including development, review and management of SOWs, construction of fees, account reviews, profitability analysis, and utilisation, ensuring successful delivery of client requirements Monitors and communicates a clear Point of View (POV) on current marketing, beauty industry trends, AI and emerging technologies, and competitive landscape issues Supports new business activities, contributing to pitches and proposals for major beauty brands Participates actively in industry functions to build new relationships and stay abreast of beauty industry trends and innovations RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Responsible for overall client engagement and the health of key relationships with our major beauty brand client and agency partners, significantly enhanced by the on‑site presence Serves as a trusted advisor to the client on Hogarth's global capabilities, integrated marketing expertise, and innovative production strategies (including those leveraging AI and emerging technologies) within the beauty vertical, facilitated by direct, regular interaction within their environment Provides strategic guidance and counsel to clients, helping them achieve business objectives and develop robust, integrated marketing and production strategies Partners seamlessly with clients, creative agencies, and other agency partners to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of the integrated brief, deliverables, timelines, and costs, in close collaboration with project management Sets and manages expectations proactively and expertly troubleshoots issues as they arise across multiple stakeholders and high‑volume projects, leveraging immediate access Interfaces regularly with all client levels to understand dynamics, identify opportunities, and propose potential solutions for clients within the beauty market Ensures a thorough understanding of contractual obligations, commercial arrangements, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across assigned accounts, communicating specific details clearly to the broader internal and external teams Provides regular insights and strategic updates to clients on a monthly or quarterly basis, focusing on Hogarth’s areas of integrated marketing and production expertise. These may include Client Quarterly Business Reviews, competitive analysis specific to beauty, market overviews, compelling case studies, and strategic planning sessions COLLABORATION Demonstrates exceptional collaboration skills with internal teams and agency partners, effectively leveraging all agency resources to seamlessly support the client’s business, including integrated strategy development, financial management, and quality of multi‑channel delivery. The embedded nature of this role requires superior communication and integration skills with client‑side teams and other agencies operating within the client’s ecosystem Cultivates a strong partnership with the Operations Lead, Finance, Hogarth Production leads, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), serving as a central point of reference and a source of truth for all content factory processes Effectively navigates and resolves situations when there are conflicting priorities across internal departments or agency partners, often directly in the client’s working environment Informs and partners with Operations to help ensure optimized teams, efficient workflow, timely delivery, and strong financial health for their businesses, especially for high‑volume accounts MANAGEMENT Works closely with the beauty brand client, creative agencies, and all agency partners to ensure a crystal‑clear understanding of the integrated brief, deliverables, and timelines for each project, effectively relaying those critical details to other members of the team as necessary, often from the client’s location Contributes to and presents account and brand‑level updates, including integrated campaign performance, to Senior Management Mentors junior team members interested in the account management path, particularly within integrated agency models and high‑volume environments Understands complex client challenges for global production and integrated marketing within the beauty sector, presenting potential opportunities to Hogarth’s global production teams and Hogarth.io to help identify innovative, cutting‑edge solutions, including those leveraging AI and emerging technologies to redefine production capabilities Contributes positively to the Hogarth Worldwide NY office agency culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion, and leading by example Requirements: 7+ years of progressive experience in the Client Services industry, with at least 4 years working specifically within an integrated agency environment Proven track record of successfully managing high‑volume accounts and complex integrated campaigns Demonstrated experience working with a major beauty brand or similar premium consumer‑facing brand is essential. Fast‑paced retail experience is highly desirable Thorough understanding of the client’s business within the beauty sector, current market trends, and the competitive landscape to provide astute counsel A robust growth mindset and exceptional adaptability, with a proven ability to skillfully navigate the dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape of modern content production, fostering continuous innovation and optimization Possess a keen interest in or demonstrated experience with AI and emerging technologies, actively seeking out and embracing new methodologies to enhance our production capabilities and adapt our ways of working Must be able to interact with Senior/Executive Management of the agency, the client, and all agency partners with confidence and professionalism Expert client relationship skills, including building strong rapport, presenting compellingly to diverse audiences, effectively managing multiple stakeholders (including agency partners), and the ability to think quickly and strategically on your feet Fluent in integrated production and marketing strategies, with a deep understanding of the complex, fragmented media landscape (digital, social, traditional) relevant to beauty brands, and how to orchestrate cohesive, high‑quality, and effective integrated programs An unwavering appreciation for how great work gets done across all channels and a relentless commitment to ensuring creative excellence and output Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
