I\'m working with a well-established, independent actuarial consultancy that is looking to hire a Pensions Actuary. The firm has a strong reputation for client service, low staff turnover, and a genuinely collaborative working culture. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work , client-facing responsibilities , and mentoring junior actuaries, without the bureaucracy that comes with a large firm. What You'll Be Doing Leading actuarial valuations for a range of DB and hybrid pension plans (including multi-employer schemes) Advising on funding strategies, plan design changes, and regulatory compliance Presenting directly to trustee boards and plan sponsors with clear, commercially-minded advice Overseeing the development of models for projections, sensitivity testing, and risk analysis Reviewing work from analysts and juniors, providing technical guidance and mentorship Staying up to date with regulatory changes and contributing to thought leadership initiatives What They\'re Looking For Qualified actuary (FCIA, FIA, FSA or equivalent), with 8 to 10+ years’ experience in pensions consulting Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, funding strategies, and risk frameworks Experience working with multi-employer plans or public sector clients is a plus Solid understanding of accounting standards and pension legislation in your jurisdiction Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues Comfortable managing projects, delivering high-quality work, and taking ownership Why This Role?
