Sr. BIE Manager, Forecasting Analytics

A core part of the supply chain operations is Demand and Inbound Forecasting: we forecast the demand and arrival of tens of millions of products. The forecasts are used to make many decisions, such as automatically ordering hundreds of millions worth of inventory, deciding where to place that inventory, and establishing labor plans for worldwide warehouses. We are looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineering Manager to lead a team developing new tools and metrics to oversee the delivery of analytics solutions across the product development lifecycle, from entitlement through implementation and ongoing business operations. A successful candidate will be customer obsessed – the Forecasting org has 50+ unique customers. You will balance long‑term thinking with short‑term actions, navigate ambiguity, confirm and reconfirm assumptions, and harmonize disparate viewpoints. Key Job Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead and develop a team of business intelligence engineers (BIEs), set team priorities, and ensure alignment with organization priorities and goals. Facilitate team member growth and career development. Continuously improve team capabilities by establishing best practices for analytics delivery and technical knowledge. Analytics & Insights Lead projects using data modeling and statistical analysis best practices to create reporting and provide insight into the forecast against large, multi‑dimensional datasets from multiple sources. Direct the design and implementation of analytics solutions for new product initiatives. Ensure quality and consistency of analytical outputs across team deliverables. Build tools to analyze large amounts of data that uncover forecasting issues and convey insights which highlight forecast performance and explain variance. Oversee the development and maintenance of recurring reporting frameworks. Product Development Support Partner with product, science, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to define success metrics and measurement approaches. Guide analytics strategy during project entitlement phases. Business Partnership Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations. Build and maintain relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders. We monitor the ASIN demand and inbound inventory forecasts for Amazon businesses worldwide. We report on historical forecast performance, changes in future forecasts, and the health of future forecasts. We partner with stakeholder teams across supply chain, retail, and operations to assess the future forecast against existing supply conditions. We develop intervention models to correct forecasts when defects exist or for scenarios not addressed adequately by core models. In addition to forecast accuracy, we help manage forecast volatility. Basic Qualifications 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience. 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience. Experience with SQL. Experience with ETL. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools. Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab, or other statistical/machine‑learning software. Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of working with a very large data warehousing environment. 10+ years of data warehouse technical architecture, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures, and hands‑on SQL coding experience.
