Job Title: General Manager - Concrete Division Location: Western Canada (Field Visits & Office Based) Company: Forward Concept Construction Ltd. Position Summary The General Manager - Concrete is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial performance of Forward Concept Construction's Concrete division. This position will drive business growth, client development, Indigenous partnerships, and project excellence across multiple concurrent projects. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) , the General Manager will work closely with executive leadership and provide weekly reporting to the CEO and CFO on project performance, analytics, earned vs. burned values, and cashflow projections. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong industry relationships, deep project controls expertise, and the ability to execute work safely, profitably, and at scale. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Relations Drive growth of the Concrete division through existing relationships and new client development Leverage industry contacts to secure new work in oil & gas, industrial, and infrastructure sectors Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships Support proposal development, bid strategy, and pricing in collaboration with the CCO Indigenous Partnerships & Engagement Develop and strengthen Indigenous partnerships , joint ventures, and subcontracting relationships Support Forward Concept's commitment to Indigenous participation, employment, and capacity building Represent the company with Indigenous organizations, communities, and industry stakeholders Estimating & Pre-Construction Oversee and support concrete estimating, budgeting, and bid reviews Ensure accurate labor, material, equipment, and indirect cost estimates Assess project risk, constructability, and execution strategies prior to award Project Controls & Planning Lead full workface planning , scheduling, and resource loading across multiple projects Implement and maintain strong project controls, cost tracking, and forecasting processes Evaluate earned value vs. burned value , productivity metrics, and schedule performance Identify trends, risks, and opportunities early and implement corrective actions Project Execution Provide leadership and oversight to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards Support change management processes including scope changes, claims, and change orders Ensure compliance with client requirements, contracts, and regulatory standards Financial Management & Reporting Maintain full P&L responsibility for the Concrete division Prepare and deliver weekly executive reports to the CEO and CFO, including: Project analytics and performance dashboards Cashflow projections across multiple projects Earned vs. burned value analysis Risk and opportunity assessments Work closely with Finance to manage invoicing, collections, and working capital Leadership & Team Development Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project and operations teams Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement Support workforce planning, succession development, and performance management Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in concrete construction , preferably within oil & gas or industrial services Proven experience driving business growth and managing client relationships Strong background in estimating, project controls, scheduling, and cost management Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and large budgets simultaneously Experience evaluating earned value, productivity, and financial performance Knowledge of Indigenous partnerships, joint ventures, or Indigenous procurement programs is a strong asset Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Technical Skills Estimating and cost control systems Workface planning and construction scheduling Earned Value Management (EVM) Change management and claims support Financial forecasting and cashflow analysis Strong proficiency with project management and reporting tools Why Join Forward Concept Construction Ltd.
