Within our Operations - Customs Compliance department, you are responsible for complying with export and import requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. More specifically, your role consists of:
Periodically check our customs compliance to minimize the risk of penalties from government institutions;
Respond to requests from internal and external customers regarding customs compliance as well as transport partners and provide daily support to the transport and customs operations department;
Checking the conformity of customs entries
You ensure the adjustment and accuracy of customs declarations;
Carry out classification and maintain a database of tariff classifications in order to validate current classifications and add those of new parts;
Participate and initiate the improvement of current processes;
Participate in special company development projects;
Keep stakeholders informed of new developments in the sector;
If necessary, you have to carry out any other related task that may fall under this job.
Technical skills:
Excellent knowledge of international trade regulations;
Excellent knowledge of Canadian and American customs procedures;
Good knowledge of IT tools, mainly the Office suite
English Intermediate-Advanced
Having the CCS title an asset
Non-technical skills:
Ability to work in a team;
Customer, action and result oriented;
Ability to manage priorities;
Sense of responsibility and organization;
Autonomy;
Methodical and orderly.
Requirements
Training: DEC Transport logistics or any other relevant discipline.
Language requirement: Perfect command of intermediate-advanced French and English.
