Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Laboratory Director at Generation Fertility Waterloo in Waterloo, ON. The Laboratory Director will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, participate in embryology duties, ensure quality control, manage laboratory staff, and implement laboratory protocols and procedures to maintain high standards of care. They work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to forward clinical initiatives and maintain all regulatory standards.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in human embryology
  • Experience in Quality Control and Quality Management
  • Strong Embryology and Andrology Laboratory Skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities, self-motivated and good time management
  • Mentorship and training of junior staff
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication
  • Knowledge of MS suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance, particularly the Canadian Safety of Sperm and Ova Regulations
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Laboratory Science or related field, but PhD preferred
  • CFAS-certified Embryologist or Lab Director, or willing to obtain
