Join us today What we are looking for The Senior Product Analyst is a key functional expert responsible for the detailed, hands-on execution and advancement of product initiatives within the Emerging Payment Products portfolio. This role ensures the product vision for emerging payments translates into tangible deliverables. The focus is dual: taking on product ownership responsibilities for the Real-time Rail, including capability enhancement and use case expansion, and actively exploring and evaluating emerging payment concepts that have the potential to transform the payments ecosystem while meeting stakeholder needs. This role requires a high degree of self-direction, strong ownership, and the ability to operate independently to drive initiatives forward. This is a temporary position for a 12-month term. A day in the life Responsibilities For This Role Will Include Product Strategy and Lifecycle Management Ownership of parts of the Real-Time Rail product portfolio and explore emerging payment concepts, translating high-level vision into tangible deliverables. Lead pre-discovery and discovery phases by conducting market research and data analysis to define value propositions, product roadmaps, and release plans. Actively manage the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and strategy formulation through to execution and capability enhancement. Business Analysis And User Experience Design Translate strategic objectives into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and comprehensive user journey flows. Collaborate closely with engineering and operational teams to review designs, provide feedback on user experience, and troubleshoot complex business issues. Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to produce insights that inform product direction and improve development outcomes. Stakeholder Collaboration and Operational Excellence Serve as a consultative expert and bridge between cross-functional internal teams (Risk, Ops, Delivery) and external stakeholders (Regulators, Vendors, Members) to ensure alignment. Establish and refine product management discipline by drafting processes, managing risks and documentation, and providing mentorship to junior team members. Facilitate high-level decision-making by coordinating working sessions with peers and senior management, collaborate with vendors, and presenting complex information effectively across the organization. You will need to be successful Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or related discipline; Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience in product management, business analysis, or project management preferably in the financial services environment. Demonstrated, hands-on experience working within or adjacent to the payments ecosystem. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate a wide range of input, rapidly assess complex situations, and structure solutions for novel matters. Critical reasoning and analytical thinking are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven experience presenting effectively across all levels of an organization. Experience in using various product management and delivery tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.). Ability to develop user journey flows and write comprehensive descriptions of requirements. Business acumen related to the Financial Services and payments industry. High degree of self-direction and familiarity with management/committee processes. Ability to build effective and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.
