Practice Details The Interior Health Authority Department of Medical Imaging in Kamloops is seeking to recruit a full-time radiologist with an Interventional Radiology subspecialty. At Royal Inland Hospital, we provide services in x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, digital mammography, nuclear medicine, and bone densitometry. Renovations for a new IR suite and construction of a new cancer centre are both scheduled to begin in 2025. Our vascular practice is broad and growing, including trauma/inpatient embolization, peripheral vascular interventions, fibroid embolization, fistula management, and an assortment of outpatient vascular cases. We have begun to develop an Interventional Oncology program as well. Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), a 273-bed facility, serves as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area. As the region’s leading tertiary referral hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre, RIH manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year. The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417-million expansion opened in 2022, has propelled RIH into a new healthcare era, featuring advanced mental health units and surgical services. In 2024, we completed our new post-anesthetic recovery room and pediatric unit, while revamping the emergency entrance— with the department’s full completion on track for autumn 2026. Further ambitious growth includes a $359-million cancer centre, set to enrich our cancer care services by 2028. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Type: Fee-for-Service. Estimated Remuneration: Fee-for-service plus MOCAP level 1. Benefits and Incentives: We offer relocation reimbursement of up to $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada (with eligible, detailed receipts).
