Role and Facility Information Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), a 273‑bed tertiary referral centre and Level 1 Trauma Centre located in Kamloops, British Columbia, serves a population of nearly 250,000 within the Thompson‑Cariboo‑Shuswap Health Service Area. The facility recently expanded with a $417‑million tower opened in summer 2022, and will add a $359‑million cancer centre by 2028. RIH offers state‑of‑the‑art services across medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and radiology. Practice Details The Medical Imaging department is a collaborative team of 9 radiologists and 1 nuclear medicine physician. Members provide comprehensive services in radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound (GE), CT (Siemens Dual Source Flash x2), MRI (recently upgraded 1.5T GE), digital mammography, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, and interventional radiology. The department is fully digital, using McKesson PACS and Fluency voice‑recognition dictation software. We offer a one‑year track to full associate and leadership development opportunities through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.
