Role and Facility Information Join our growing neurology team at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and help shape neurological care in our region. We are a collegial team focused on continuous practice improvement and collaboration. This division offers a full spectrum neurology practice, including inpatient care for general neurology and acute stroke with thrombolysis. The inpatient unit is housed in the brand new Gaglardi patient care tower, featuring a multi-disciplinary stroke/rehabilitation unit. Hospitalist and internal medicine teams support neurology admissions. We work closely with Neurosurgery, Vascular surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehab, Cardiology, General Internal Medicine, and Infectious Diseases, and have strong ties with regional colleagues at Kelowna General Hospital to develop subspecialty care pathways. Outpatient neurology clinics take place in the Clinical Services Building. The TIA/stroke clinic runs 5 days a week and is supported by a full-time RN and booking clerk. The EMG lab is state of the art and staffed by an experienced technician. The EEG lab provides both inpatient and outpatient EEG services. Further outpatient clinic expansion is underway, with plans to add a rapid access neurology clinic and additional support for subspecialty neurology clinics. If you are interested in teaching, you can be actively involved with the UBC clerkship and residency programs. We have on-site medical students, family medicine residents, internal medicine residents, and rotating residents in psychiatry and neurology. Additionally, if you would like to locum while deciding if Kamloops is a fit, we offer an all-inclusive guarantee: $15,000 for a 7-day locum week, with travel and accommodation on top of that.
