Job Overview As a Health & Safety, Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you’ll work with a dynamic and fast‑paced group of Health & Safety experts. Working closely with the Safety Department, this position is office‑based, with opportunities to visit district and/or field locations to assist in field safety support activities. The role is based in our Calgary office and will report to the Manager, Health & Safety. Duration: May 4, 2026, to August 21, 2026. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development of health and safety programming and Integrated Safety and Loss Management System (ISLMS) documentation. Support tracking and reporting of health and safety key performance indicators (KPI's), near misses and leading indicators. Assist with annual Safety Data Sheets (SDS) inventories. Other responsibilities include monitoring existing safety program elements inc. document review, maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance and assisting with safety initiatives, including safety flashes, communication and office/field safety awareness. Field responsibilities may include participation in hazardous chemical inventories and facility inspections. Support contractor safety program and participate in contractor safety inspections. Review and update training materials relative to Health and Safety manual revisions. Assist with activities related to emergency response exercises. Monitor compliance to the Energy Safety Canada Life Saving Rules. Assist with other team functions and provide support to team as necessary. Qualifications and Professional Experience Enrollment in an Occupational Health and Safety related discipline considered an asset. Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety is an asset. Strong verbal and written communications, including but not limited to email, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation and industry standards. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) for the purpose of word processing, spreadsheets (data input) and information retrieval. Ability to successfully organize and manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work with a team, focus attention to details, follow work rules and adhere to established work schedules. Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of performance; and Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public. Other Requirements and Information Must be enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary institution and return to full‑time studies in the Fall. This role is full‑time in office and requires on‑site attendance for the duration of the summer term. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Expected Pay Range: $24.61 to $33.48 CAD .
