Excellent verbal and written skills in English (French and Spanish would be considered an asset) Position Overview At Rock-Tech, we believe in pushing envelope in using the latest technology and techniques for providing state of the art mining equipment to mines all over the globe. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our growing engineering team in our Sudbury based operation as a Senior Mechanical Designer. Qualifications College diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology 8-10 years relevant engineering experience 3D Modeling (Preferably SolidWorks) Ability to create and edit 2D schematic files Ability to follow process and procedure guidelines. Good problem-solving skills Able to model and visualize moving components in 3D. Knowledge of welding and machining processes Effective knowledge of MS office (igger. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Knowledge of hydraulic principles Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed drawings for manufacturing from 3D models. Help interpret engineering changes from manufacturing to CAD. Performing reviews of designs by other designers Aide in composing and editing engineering documentation. Creation of parts, assembly, service, and maintenance manuals Create burn table nesting profiles for cutting sheet metal. Assist in projects from kickoff to commissioning. Maintaining accurate documentation of design and test data, including BOMs, specifications, and testing reports. Effectively communicate with vendors to streamline product implementation. Maintain and promote a culture of forward thinking and organization within Rock-Tech Provide help to production with Quality Assurance of various components. Receive feedback from assembly floor or customers, determining root causes and proposing solutions. Contribute positively to our current PDM vault system and help streamline our workflows. Aid in training of other team members in the engineering team Foster a culture of continuous improvement to all company stakeholders Successfully estimate project timelines and budgets Interpret challenges from engineering drawings to ERP bill of materials and routers #J-18808-Ljbffr
