The role focuses on providing fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers, assessing their needs, and guiding them through the entire project. Associate knowledge spans all product and department features to sell a complete project solution. Key Responsibilities Follow the Home Depot GET Model: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking every customer. Actively seek customers across all departments and escort them to appropriate merchandise. Ask open‑ended questions to determine project needs and customer's level of expertise. Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services. Discuss options (good, better, best) and suggest related items or services outside the department. Educate customers about the entire project and use empowerment programs when necessary. Maintain daily stock: ensure products are signed, displayed, and clean. Continuously build product knowledge across the department and adjacent areas. Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and security policies. Core Competencies Effective Communication Customer Focus Interpersonal Skills Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. 1–2 years of retail or trade experience (asset). Ability to lift, bend, and maneuver to accommodate the physical demands. Working Conditions Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
