As the conduit to CPA Ontario’s disciplinary process, the Standards Enforcement team plays a critical role in the assessment and evaluation of complaints, ensuring effective and efficient regulation for the public while providing timely due process to members, students, and firms. What You’ll Be Doing Lead preliminary investigations of complaints against CPA Ontario members, students, and firms, communicating with complainants and respondents to gather sufficient information and supporting documentation. Provide technical accounting and assurance subject‑matter expertise on investigations. Review complaint materials, conduct research, and develop risk‑adjusted case plans to assess potential breaches of the CPA Code of Professional Conduct or Student Code of Conduct. Prepare reports and document briefs for the Vice President, Complaints and Investigations, and the Professional Conduct Committee. Present findings to the Professional Conduct Committee and respond to inquiries. Lead and/or participate in special projects, initiatives, and liaise with other organizational areas to support strategic and regulatory priorities. Participate in CPA Ontario committees, working groups, and task forces related to the CPA Code of Professional Conduct and Standards Enforcement operations. Who You Are Post‑secondary graduate who has successfully completed the CPA designation and is a member in good standing with CPA Ontario. Experienced in public accounting within a regulatory or compliance environment. A proven multitasker who excels in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment and can manage a complex, multi‑issue caseload. Excellent collaborator and communicator (verbal and written) with strong interpersonal, public‑speaking, presentation, and report‑writing skills. Proactive, self‑starter with positive energy and a drive for continuous improvement. Digitally fluent with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Salesforce; familiarity with Power BI or other data‑analytics tools is highly preferred.
