Staff Software Engineer CarAI | Remote (Canada) About Us CarAI is building the future of dealership intelligence. Role and Responsibilities AI Engineering: Architect and build advanced AI solutions that power dealer performance—ranging from recommendation engines and predictive analytics to conversational assistants. Platform Leadership: Lead the technical development of CarAI’s core products, including dealer‑facing dashboards, smart CRM integrations, and real‑time data pipelines. Help shape the product roadmap and translate business objectives into scalable technical designs. Technical Direction & Architecture: Make key decisions on architecture, system design, and tooling. Lead technical reviews and mentor engineers across the stack. Drive standardization and code quality across services and teams. Full‑Stack Execution: Work across the stack as needed—from backend infrastructure (Python, Node.js) to front‑end interfaces (React/TypeScript) to DevOps/cloud (AWS). AI & Data Infrastructure: Design and scale LLM‑powered experiences and data workflows that integrate dealership inventory, user behavior, and third‑party data sources. Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and dealer success teams to understand user pain points and deliver elegant technical solutions. Contribute to an engineering culture of knowledge‑sharing, ownership, and technical excellence. Qualifications Required 5+ years full‑time software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering high‑impact systems and platforms. Deep experience with Python or TypeScript, and strong proficiency in system design, data modeling, and distributed computing. Experience with cloud‑native architectures (AWS preferred), including serverless, containerization, and infrastructure as code. Experience in building and scaling AI‑integrated applications or products. Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals: OOP, algorithms, caching, databases, CI/CD. Preferred Background in developing AI products for B2B or enterprise use‑cases. Experience integrating or fine‑tuning LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, etc.) into production systems. Experience with dealership software, CRM tools, or automotive SaaS is a strong plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical trade‑offs to stakeholders.
