Senior Financial Planning Analyst

The Role Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our Finance team. This will be a critical role on the Financial Planning & Analysis team with the opportunity to work in a highly dynamic environment involving strategic advisory, data analytics, and corporate finance with a high level of responsibility and exposure to executive leadership. Kobo’s Finance team is an energetic and dedicated group of professionals that are highly involved in all facets of the business through the delivery of exceptional stakeholder value. Reporting to the Manager of FP&A, the Senior Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, preparation, and delivery of Kobo’s financial and operational forecast, budget, and actual results. They will offer key analytical support and oversight to Kobo’s financial month-end process and to leaders throughout the organization. They will also play an important role in reporting to investors and Kobo’s Parent company. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, experience navigating dynamic structures to facilitate business decision making, be comfortable with advanced data analytics, and have demonstrated an ability to provide precise, data-driven analysis when dealing with a variety of stakeholders and an uncertain future. This role has the opportunity for flexible remote work depending on manager requirements. Candidates will be required to work from the Toronto Head Office at least once per week.
