Position Summary:  


Trillium by DoctorCare is looking for a medical billing agent to join its industry-leading Client Success team of medical billers to help provide exceptional guidance and support for our growing customer base.   


To succeed in this role, you need to be smart, show initiative and be a good learner. You need to excel at engaging with clients, have strong attention to detail and data entry, while balancing multiple timelines and priorities. In your role, you will have direct, meaningful coaching from industry experts to improve your skills and plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.  


What you will be doing:  


  • Support the day-to-day delivery of Trillium’s Billing Care Plus Service 
  • Accurately input and create claims from physicians’ day sheets for OHIP and non-OHIP submissions 
  • Reconcile billing errors, including through stale-dated claims requests, manual reviews and Remittance Advice Inquiries  
  • Use your analytical skills to identify billing & revenue opportunities for customers 
  • Reconcile and process third party insurance payments 
  • Have strong attention to detail and work well under time pressures to ensure that all Ministry of Health deadlines are adhered to, and data entry errors are minimized 


Required and Desired Skills:  


  • Experience in OHIP medical billing is required  
  • Experience with EMRs in Ontario is required (PS Suite, Accuro, Oscar, ClinicAid)  
  • Familiarity with the Schedule of Benefits, medical terminology, diagnostic and OHIP billings codes is required 
  • Experience with Hospital Specialty/ER/Critical Care billing is considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of third-party claims processing is considered an asset 
  • Experience with customer service and data entry is required 
  • Experience with any of the following tools is desired: Microsoft Excel, MAC 
  • Travel to offices in Burlington and/or Rockwood, Ontario, one to two days per week is required 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of medical terminology used in hospital treatments and diagnoses is required 
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team is required

Potential candidates will be asked to take a data entry/typing speed test.
