Job Description: Members of the Day Camp Program team’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) learning our core programs and implementing them for campers, developing, planning and preparing fun new program ideas, teaching, supporting and supervising the counsellors, and overall facilitating fun But being a camp programmer is so much more. You get to be a host and a cool character in the lives of campers. You become a friend, mentor, and role model to both campers and other staff. You get an opportunity to inspire, share your passions and help kids grow and learn about themselves. Most of all, you get to keep the fun and the positive spirit of camp going, all while having fun, finding purpose and learning about yourself. Specific Roles Program Director: The program director is responsible for creating the weekly schedule, having an overall vision for the summer program, helping to plan pre-camp, overlooking the program, and checking in and supporting the program team. You will have to learn and understand the purpose of our core programs, as well as be comfortable running them. Some administration and computer experience is an asset. Assistant Program Director: The assistant program director helps with the overall design of the schedule as well as planning characters and skits for our morning gatherings, creating new and fun program and theme days and assisting to support the program team. You will have to learn and understand the purpose of our core programs, as well as be comfortable running them. Some administration and computer experience is an asset. Section-head: This position is assigned a section of campers (Tykes are grades SK to grade 2, Juniors are grades 3 and 4, Intermediate/Seniors are grade 5 to grade 8) to manage, supervise and support counsellors throughout the summer. Responsibilities include morning and evening camper checkins, daily staff checkins, problem solving, as well as planning and running programs specific to your section. Crafts Specialist: Let’s get crafty The crafts specialist is responsible for planning and preparing age‑appropriate arts and crafts projects each week, managing crafts supplies, as well as running other core programs. Rabbitropolis Specialist: The Rabbitropolis Specialist is responsible for caring for and managing our bunnies and rabbits, developing and preparing unique programs relevant to empathy and care for animals, teaching campers about calmness and mindfulness in order to prepare them for interacting with the rabbits, as well as running other core programs. Program Manager: This program role is responsible for running our core programs, planning and preparing fresh program ideas, as well as overlooking the general upkeep and quality of the programs and program materials. From fixing archery arrows, shopping for crafts supplies, painting signs for different program areas, this is a jack‑of‑all‑trades kind of leadership role. Some carpentry and general handiness is an asset. Qualifications Programmers must attend our Senior Pre‑camp Training (June 17 – 20) as well as Pre‑Camp Training from June 23rd to June 27th, 2025. Day Camp runs from June 30th to August 29th, 2025. Programmers are asked, if possible, to commit to the entire summer. This is a day camp position. Living on site is not available at this time. Day camp bus stops are available in London, ON. Staff must bring their own lunches and snacks. Standard First Aid and CPR Cis a must. NLS Lifeguarding qualification is an asset but not required. Provide a Clear Background Check. Skills in empathy, adaptability, initiative, problem solving, stress management. Have a positive attitude and a willingness and openness to grow as a leaderand receive feedback. Must be able to work well with children and in a team setting. Horseback riding experience is an asset but not required. Valid G Driver’s License is an asset but not required. The Ranch is currently hiring day camp Programmers for Summer Day Camp 2025.
