Position: Product Designer (Outdoor Gear)
Location: Vancouver, Canada
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and versatile Product Designer with expertise in garment technology, industrial design, and fashion design. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating innovative outdoor products, with a strong understanding of materials, production processes, and technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop concepts and designs for outdoor gear, including fishing vests and accessories for dog walking, from initial sketches to final prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technologists, and marketing specialists, to bring designs to life.
- Create detailed technical specifications, ensuring products meet quality standards and production requirements.
- Conduct research on materials, trends, and new technologies to enhance product innovation and sustainability.
- Oversee the production process, including material selection, manufacturing, and quality control, with a focus on sustainable practices.
- Ensure designs are both functional and aesthetically appealing, meeting customer needs and market demands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Textile Technology, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
- 2+ years of experience in product design, garment technology, or industrial design.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools.
- Strong understanding of materials science, textile technology, and sustainable production processes.
- Keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Be honest with your pals and yourself.
