For more information, please visit our website: wolfadvancedtechnology.com Your Mission Brief WOLF Advanced Technology is seeking a full-time Sr. Engineer, Hardware, SBC to join our product development team in Aurora, ON (hybrid) . Reporting to the Sr. Engineer, Technology: SBC & Embedded Security Solutions, you’ll design rugged single board computing solutions for aerospace and defence systems worldwide. You’ll work with PCB, firmware, software, and mechanical teams to bring high-performance computing products from concept to deployment. What you might do Design and innovate: Translate requirements into schematic designs for rugged embedded systems meeting aerospace and defence standards Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with PCB, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to deliver mission-ready products Drive performance: Evaluate high-speed interfaces, power distribution networks, and GPUs/SoCs for extreme environments Validate reliability: Plan and execute compliance testing, thermal characterization, and bring-up under MIL-STD conditions Advance technology: Research and integrate video, AI acceleration, and interconnect solutions into designs Document with precision: Create and review specs, schematics, and BOMs that meet aerospace standards Champion quality: Work with production and quality teams to optimize workflows and design-to-production cycles In this role, your work ensures mission-critical systems perform when it matters most for defence and aerospace leaders globally. Your Edge With a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 8+ years of experience designing mixed-signal hardware systems , you’ll own complex schematic design and drive rugged SBC innovation. You’ve built your career in aerospace and defence, developing high-speed circuits and embedded solutions that meet stringent performance and reliability standards. You bring expertise in schematic-level design, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR4, GDDR6), and video standards (HDMI, DisplayPort, SMPTE), and have worked with MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and IPC standards. Experience with rugged computing form factors like VPX and XMC, and awareness of SOSA for the U.S. market, helps translate demanding specs into practical hardware solutions. What You Bring to the Table Tool expertise: Cadence OrCAD, Allegro PCB Editor, and related tools; ability to learn new platforms Protocol knowledge: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN Bus PCB awareness: Understand how schematic decisions affect routing, manufacturability, and cost Standards knowledge: MIL-STD-810, DO-160, IPC Cross-functional mindset: Collaborate with PCB, firmware, mechanical, and production engineers Problem-solving: Analytical approach to evaluate trade-offs and ensure accuracy and compliance Communication skills: Clear communicator who values teamwork In this role, you’ll directly shape the future of WOLF’s high-performance computing platforms for aerospace and defence.
