With an expanding footprint, they are growing their mixed‑use portfolio to include a significant commercial and retail component. Backed by a strong balance sheet, a steady pipeline of developments, and a people‑first culture, the company offers an exciting platform for accounting leaders who want to help build something new. Responsibilities Serve as the subject‑matter expert for commercial and retail accounting as the organization scales its mixed‑use operations. Lead the implementation of the Yardi commercial module for the accounting team, ensuring the system is configured to reflect the complexities of retail and commercial lease structures accurately. Design accounting workflows and establish controls, particularly around operating‑cost recovery (CAM), to ensure accuracy and scalability. Collaborate closely with Operations, Asset Management, and other accounting professionals. Manage the evolving accounting platform, transitioning from an individual contributor to a people‑management role as the team expands. Qualifications At least five years of experience in retail (preferred) or commercial/office property accounting. Deep understanding of operating‑cost recoveries (CAM) and full‑cycle accounting processes. Leadership experience, whether managing a team directly for two or more years or coaching indirect reports such as CPA students or co‑op staff. Proven track record of setting up or improving accounting platforms and processes, including chart of accounts, lease‑parameter setup, and Yardi workflows. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, INDEX). CPA designation and prior experience with Yardi implementations are considered strong assets. Adaptable, detail‑oriented, proactive, with the ability to solve problems, influence outcomes, and collaborate across functions.
