We are WSP. The Opportunity Senior Water & Wastewater Engineer – Edmonton or Calgary. You’ll act as a senior design resource on local and national water and wastewater treatment projects across municipal and industrial sectors, with opportunities to work on effluent reuse initiatives. In this role, you’ll collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world. Your Impact Design and deliver innovative water and wastewater infrastructure projects that enhance community well‑being and environmental stewardship. Develop process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and control narratives for treatment facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality designs, reports, and cost estimates while navigating approvals. Engage with clients, sub‑consultants, and contractors to build strong relationships and ensure successful project outcomes. Lead design execution for municipal servicing projects, including treatment facilities, civil works, force mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, and feeder mains. Support all phases of construction, from fieldwork to contract administration, gaining hands‑on experience and applying best practices. Mentor junior engineers and technologists, fostering technical excellence and growth within the team. The Skills That Set You Apart A degree in civil, process, mechanical, or environmental engineering and eligibility for a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in Canada. 10–20 years of relevant industry experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Expertise in municipal and provincial approval processes, permitting, and Alberta environmental standards. Proficiency with design and modelling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, Revit, MicroStation, WaterCAD, InfoWater, SewerCAD, and process modelling software (BioWin, SUMO). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to deliver innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
